Senator Bill Nelson (D-FL) this is the 2nd TIME
I contacted your staff over a year ago about the CRISIS of uninsured children in Florida. You wrote back to me and said you were working on Federal legislation to improve the restrictions on low-cost insurance but it has gotten much worse. So at the risk of being rude let me repeat myself.
Federal law requires employers to “offer” insurance to workers’ families which automatically disqualify these families from Obamacare income-based tax credits. Pasco Schools are “SELLING” Blue Cross Inc. insurance to teachers that costs $1,213 a month to add a 30-year-old spouse and child to the PPO with $3,000 Out-Of-Pocket per person. Many cannot afford these ridiculous prices and we have uninsured children. When they go to the Obamacare Exchange they are DISQUALIFIED for tax credits and must purchase over-priced GUARANTEED ISSUE Obamacare plans with sky-high deductibles of $7,150 per person with AFTER-TAX-DOLLARS which makes it even more expensive. Obamacare allows multi-millionaire CEOs not to pay taxes on employer-based insurance but poor Florida teachers’ children MUST. Obamacare is not fair. It was your vote that passed this nightmare on America’s children.
Blue Cross just buys the politicians of all political stripes. Blue Cross of Florida spends more on politics in Florida than any other entity. Blue Cross Association wrote Obamacare to restrict competition, Individual Medical (IM) insurance, to their giant monopoly of employer-based health insurance which TERMINATES employees when they get too sick to work. Pasco Schools are also “SELLING” life insurance that TERMINATES when a teacher gets ovarian cancer and becomes too sick to work. Imagine the heart break for a bald headed woman who paid $50 extra a month for life insurance only to lose the life insurance because her cancer has made her too sick to work.
Being uninsured is dangerous. The Orlando Weekly reported that Florida hospitals will charge an uninsured child 10 times more. They said that a simple stomach bug could cost $100,000. Many families purchased low-cost Short Term Medical (STM) insurance. This year in Tampa a 30-year-old husband and child could purchase STM PPO with a smaller $2,500 deductible that pays 100% for just $260 a month. But at the beginning of this month, 4/1/2017, the last low-cost insurance option was eliminated by an Executive Order of the last Obama Administration. Blue Cross, in the 2000+ page Obamacare legislation, forgot about STM so it was still the law of the land. STM lasts for a year, in most states, so it was the perfect tool to go from Obamacare Open Enrollments from year to year.
The Obama Administration’s executive order to restrict STM to just 3 months is UNCONSTITUTIONAL. Regardless, HHS’s Dr. Tom Price can rescind the UNCONSTITUTIONAL ban on low-cost STM by simply whipping out his pen and signing a new order. It was your vote for Obamacare that has plunged America into this dungeon of despair. Now it is your job to ask HHS and Dr. Tom Price to rescind the UNCONSTITUTIONAL ban on STM so America’s uninsured children have their low-cost health insurance option so that they may be safe.
This is the 2nd TIME I have told you about the “Family Glitch” and Pasco Schools. I have had the best trainers in the world. One was captain of the Romanian Olympic rowing team and she also enjoys the title of “World Champion.” If she would have asked me twice to do something she would have asked me, “What, are you RETARDED?”
